Nanokeratin refining shampoo and mask: making my hair manageable

Knotty, damaged and very dry best describes my hair. Long have I wanted soft to the touch hair that my fingers can just glide through with ease. So when these landed through my door, I couldn't wait to try them out and see if they could work their magic.

The normal shampoos I use are either the Catwalk Oatmeal one or a trusted Herbal Essence which might not be the best, but they work well with my hair and its condition. I find that some shampoos can make my hair quite greasy quickly and tend to only wear it down for one day and they its up in the standard pineapple hairstyle we all sport. The shampoo is nice, although after washing it out it sort of felt that it had dried my hair out (if that even makes sense). It didn't lather up much compared to other shampoos and was tough to get the amount from the sachet to cover all of my long locks, but overall was good in terms of application.

Normally I'm not a huge fan of using masks because, if I'm honest I'm lazy. I want to get in and then out done and dusted. This attitude to hair care in the shower has changed as this mask actually has been working wonders on my hair. I applied it and left it a few minutes whilst I did the other shower stuff and then washed it out. Instantly my hair felt silkier, smoother, more tame and not as knotty. As I expected once dry it was easy to work with and was less knotty and actually felt smooth to the touch. I was able to go a couple of days wearing my hair done until it went greasy.

I had never heard of this shampoo and hair mask before, but am so happy I've now been introduced as I will be hunting this down. I'm not sure I'll purchase the shampoo, but the hair mask is one of the nicest I've used.

Do you use hair masks? Or have you tried this brand before?

  1. I really need to get into using hair masks, my hair is such a knotty matted mess when it's wet from too much colouring over the years! Do you use a wide toothed comb to work through your conditioner in the shower? I've found that's made a big difference to mine :)

    1. Thanks for advice on using a wide toothed comb! I've been told that helps but I'm yet to try it out. Honestly I can't explain how much nicer my hair is after using a hair mask too!! xo

For The Love Of Cucumbers and Skincare

AD with Yes To Good morning and happy National Cucumber Day! I love cucumbers! There, I said it. I like to eat them, drink them in juices and smoothies, and even like them in my skincare routine. Over the last couple of months I've really struggled with my skin. Getting hard lumps under the skin, and rash like breakouts that were super persistent and refused to die down. I thought about whether or not I was using too many different products and clogging up my skin, or it was just down to stress or something. All I knew was that I had to give something a go and hope for it to work it's magic on my problem skin as it was getting me down. What a day to share my love of cucumbers and my love of the  Yes To Cucumber  range with you cuties. Make yourself a cheese (vegan cheese if you're like myself) and cucumber sandwich and take a read about a range you'll want try!  It may shock you to see an entire range made with cucumbers, but it's actually a

How To Read More & What I Read In May

*gifted items and affiliate links Hi mates, it's been a while!  So, I've had quite a few requests to create a blog post all about how I read so much. Don't get me wrong there are loads of people out there that read way more than me. But I average 4 books a month, however with lockdown in the UK I've been able to rack up my monthly average.  Let's just jump straight in to how I read as much as I do. 1 ~ Choose books you WANT to read This sounds super obvious, however I myself have been known to follow book trends and pick up a book because it's all over the gram, or because my favourite influencer has told me to read it. Doing so can result in books you just don't get in the flow of reading and books you don't want to actively pick up.  Know what genres you like to read. Know what authors you like and do some digging to make sure you pick wisely. Sometimes you will be disappointed with a book that you feel you should of enjoye

Easy To Make Zero Waste Coffee Body Scrub

I'm back on this blogging hype and I'm feeling super inspired to get my space of the internet up and running again. Basically I thought I knew what I was doing in the back end of my blog (theme, settings etc) and for a few months I couldn't do anything until my friends life saver boyfriend sorted it for me! So, lets jump into a cosmetic, zero waste body care at home post and something I'm loving using in my daily shower routine.  It doesn't cost the earth, makes your skin ultra soft, and all you need are things from the kitchen cupboard.   I don't know if you've seen the companies selling coffee scrub or very similar products for around £6 and up, so making something like this thats fresh and uses up a waste bi-product and cupboard essentials means you're saving money as well as saving the purchase of a product!  Items I use in my homemade body scrub: * Coffee Grounds * Coconut Sugar 4tbp * Vanilla Extract 3tsp First things first, the co
