Those times when your skin's crying out for some TLC, I like to mix up my skincare routine to try and accommodate its needs. This particular day my skin was tired, dull and felt like blemishes were brewing ready to unleash themselves. With this in mind I pulled out my ultimate favourites for those key things my skin needed help with.
My evening cleanser won't change until someone lets me in on something that's better than the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. It does what you need it to do, but does it in a way thats calming yet invigorating, and really does seem to help with regard to dull looking skin. Having combination skin and a very oily T-Zone the cleansing gel also helps to even out my skin and the dry sections are becoming more normal than flakey dry.
I like to use a deep cleansing mask on a Sunday and Wednesday. Today is a Sunday, and I went for the Super Facialist Pore Purifying Clay Mask as my lady time is up and knowing my body I was waiting for the moment when all of the impurities were going to surface and say a big and bold hello. The mask contains Salicylic acid which helps to unclog congested skin and does that in the nicest most gentle way. Being a clay mask it tightens when left on the skin, just for five minutes. When wiped off with a damp and warm flannel, it reveals a smooth and clear complexion.
Not sure where to being with this product, but it's certainly one that everyone should have. Pixi Glow Tonic is an exfoliating toner that helps to remove dead skin to leave a much brighter looking complexion. I've included this in some previous posts so wont bore you with the same information, however this most definitely helps towards preventing breakouts. By using this every day really does help to keep the monthly imperfections at bay.
For the past couple of months I've been using the La Roche-Posay Serozinc spray as a nice calming step in my skincare. Recently I found the Clarins Toning Lotion for oily combination skin and thought I might as well give it a try. As my routine is pretty solid now and everything seems to be working well for my skin I can't really see if this helps or not. I can say that it's really nice to use and is just a nice extra step in my routine with a product that can hopefully help with my oily T-Zone.
I'm someone who really suffers with dark circles under my eyes. I can sometimes have issues with sleep, but in general have around 7 hours a night on average. Even when I sleep a good amount of hours my eye bags are still there with vengeance. Skin Pep Dark Circle Eraser is a product I've used for a while now and still enjoy using it every night. I wake up looking brighter under my eyes and definitely not as dark as how I went to bed. I can sometimes get a little dry under my eyes however this helps to treat that and soften up the under eye skin.
The day my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair ran out I must admit I was crying inside. This may sound a little over the top, but this is the product I most enjoy using. Mostly because of how amazing my skin feels but also because of the price tag and knowing I will need to buy a new one because I can't live without it. Thank goodness I had this sample size to tied me over but this stuff is just amazingness in a bottle. My skin drinks this stuff up and leaves my skin feeling so loved and hydrated. I flit between a couple of different serums but this one is up there with the miracle workers.
Lastly theres the moisturiser step where Elemis Marine Cream comes into play. I use this on my mask routine nights as it's so thick and instantly hydrating after using a deep clay treatment. Being so pricey I actually got super sad when I realised how little I had left. It really helps to lock in hydration and especially in the colder months, this would be your bestie. Of course it has the anti-wrinkle and ageing benefits, but those that I won't be able to see the positives until I grow old. For now, its just a beaut to use.
